Recovery Using the Online Backup Manager


NOTE: This basic method can be used to recover an entire computer or server, including databased.








If restoring an entire computer or server, install the base operating system onto the system.
Install the OBM client software.
Once logged in to the software, click on the "Restore" tab on the bottom left of the application window.
Choose the date from which you want the data to be restored back to at the top of the right hand pane.
In the left column, select the Backup Set name and folders/files you would like to restore.
Click the "Restore" button at the top of the application window and the system will ask you where you would like the files restored to.
Finally, click the start button and the files will begin downloading and restoring to your computer or server.

Recovery Using the Web Based Console


NOTE: This basic method cannot be used to recover SLQ databases backed up using incremental or differential deltas.










Login to the Web Console accessible from the myAccount section of our website.
Click on the "File Explorer" option in the menu bar at the top of the page.
Find the relevant Backup Set where your files have been stored.
Navigate to the correct folder where you can see the files.
The top menu bar will allow you to access files from previous dates which you can select from the drop-down menu.
Place a tick in the file/folder you want to restore and then click the "Restore" button.
In the new window, select the location for where you want the files saved.
Enter your unique ecryption key and finally click on the start button.

Important note.


Don't forgot your backup set encryption key. Once set, it cannot be changed and without this key you will be unable to retrieve your data. We always recommend that you keep a note of your key somewhere safe. iceBackup does not keep a copy of any encryption keys. If you change the password to access your account, this will not change any encryption keys required to recover your data already configured within backup sets. Your encryption key is set when you first create your backup set and cannot be changed unless you delete the backup set and create a new one.
