Use of the iceBackup system is simplicity itself.

A quick and easy software installation is followed by selecting the files, directories or other data formats you wish to regularly backup. Your selected files will be scheduled for automated backup from that point on, unless you remove them.

iceBackup Software prepares your files for backup by encrypting and compressing them. Your data is then transmitted, utilising an SSL (Secure Socket Layer) connection, to iceBackups' Online Backup Servers' securely shielded data storage facilities.

Once your first backup is completed, iceBackup will perform an automated, incremental (daily) backup of all new or updated information available. You will designate the timing of the backup, and you may adjust this timing as needed.

All backups generate an email notification that provides you with a concise record of the backup. You will also receive email notification if your scheduled backup was not received by the iceBackup server. You are always up-to-date on your backup system's performance.

A final step, taken by iceBackup, is to assure optimum levels of data protection by maintaining duplicate, live copies of your backed up data. These dual copies, stored at separate datacentres on mirrored storage servers, ensure 24-hour access, every day.

Secure 128-bit SSL communication

All communications between iceBackup's Online Backup Server and your computer are transported in a 128-bit SSL (Secure Socket Layer) channel. Although all your backup files travel through a public network (internet), eavesdroppers have no knowledge of what has been exchanged.

Data is Securely Encrypted

All of your files are first zipped and encrypted with a your defined encrypting key before they are sent to iceBackup's Online Backup Serverr. To all people but you, your files stored on iceBackup's Online Backup Server are no more than some chunks of code files with random content.

Replication Sites to Backup our Servers

Our advanced forms of security include data replication, also known as redundancy. We utilized this basic concept by instituting our own backup servers to protect your data, maintained at different sites. This ensures your ability to log on to either server for consistent, uninterrupted access of your data in the event one server needed to be down for system management.
